Cryonite Treatment
Well we have started work with Cryonite. The product shows good results for contact killing of bed bugs but we have noticed a lack of penetration of cloth surfaces, which is a definite disadvantage when treating beds, sofas, etc. There does seem to be a need for this product for electronics and other areas sensitive to liquids or dusts, since the Cryonite goes from a solid to a gas. the unit itself is slightly bulky and heavier than we would like. I would have to say not one of my favorite or main control products but definitely another tool in the tool chest for our war on bed bugs!

We're considering Cryonite... would love to hear more about your experiences with it.
ReplyDeleteSeems like it would be a good tool to put in the 'box' along with residuals, dust, steam etc.. One thing that we've found out is that you must store the CO2 cylinder upright during transport, this would mean installing a bracket in our trucks and would have to be approved by our Transport Dept. too.
Please write more about your experiences with Cryonite.
Thanks,

Transportation was an issue as well as the weight of the CO2 cylinders, which can be somewhat reduced using lighter metal cylinders. We just never saw the value of the cryonite versus steam and decided to go with total heat units with steam as our main tools. that said, we did get some killing action with the cryonite, just no penetration that we could see.
